And you can just trundle round to your folks!

This time round, I'm giving this gala a miss, the timetable doesn't appeal and nor do the madding crowds - of which at the mo, I don't need........... so linesiding at the MHR for members weekend for the peace & quiet appeals. ;)

Any road, there'll be many a chance to see the Scot elsewhere without all the bodies, arms, phones etc in the way. :)

Who said that?.............. you can be rather 'entertaining' at times!.............................. :)

Any ways, if you want to see & experience a Crab, "Darn Sarf" being worked - you know where to come. ;) But its your money, your choice, at the end of the day!

Soooo, getting back on thread - seeing as how I'm giving this one a miss, I looking forward to seeing the reports, photo's & vid's from the event.:)........................ and to think, this was supposed to be the MHR at the beginning of the year........... win some, lose some. :(

I think it would be a good idea if the railway got staff members or volunteers to dress up as sqaddies and matelots and shuttle up and down in the compartment stock overnight pretending to be asleep in the luggage racks. I'm sure it would add atmosphere to steam at night . With the blinds down and kit bags on all the seats. I'm sure that would be a real bonus.

I assume your tongue was firmly in your cheer - no smiley face though

If this were a real sugestion where are the volunteers coming from who are not allready engaged in operating the railway?

ps I will unfortunately not be at the gala operationally as I have sustained an injury precluding safety related tasks

This looks like it could be fun! It's a pity my band have to be performing in Preston on the evening of the Saturday of this gala! I should still get there for the early morning and stay till around 3. I should see all the visitors. I can't wait to see RS again.

My best ever ride at Llangollen and I've had a few thousand! RS was an absolute beast at that gala. That's probably why it broke!! Not really but it certainly put on a show.

Form an orderly queue for 46100 fellas! Could 461000 do the impossible and top Caley 828 as most popular SVR guest? I've always had a thing for Scots for me they're possibly the most handsome looking loco ever! 7822 if you fancy a pint mate you want me to PM my number to you?

I'm really rather excited by it Mrs 6968's friend has been round for the weekend and she said somthing about 'you should have a date night' My reply was 'Lisa we have a date weekend in 5 days time' 'oh how nice' then the good lady interrupted with 'yes Matt has a date with Royal Scot and whats the other one? Oh Brittania thats his idea of a date weekend'

Does anyone know if 46100 will be turned to face south as per advertised or is it staying facing north?Trying to plan what to film and what to ride.

Only if it makes as much of a racket as the Caley did when it encountered any form of gradient! As a class 7 I expect probably not. The sight of a Scot on a full rake of staniers is going to be something to behold though!

If only I could be there for longer. I am around for all 3 days in the diesel gala. I'm wondering where the best places are to meet up with like-minded individuals. I'm guessing you'll be around!

The Scot does make a surprising amount of noise. It used to have a strange valve timing but I'm guessing it won't any more. It looks absolutely superb. I bet it and Britannia will both put on one heck of a show.
