    Yeah - I shall be there on all 3 days, having booked the Friday off several months ago. Let's hope we have the same weather as last year.

    Yeah, I'll head down to another normal running day some time... Might have a shot at clearing 5764 before its ticket expires :p

    Got my WTT today, I can understand all the various views people have posted here. However, I can't wait for this - looks like a wonderful variety to me. Without wanting to give anything away for free, an awesome mix of tanks, tenders and double heading. Locals look like they make sense and offer some change from the normal. And after the big feel of the pacifics etc in the Spring this a wonderful contrast.

    Now then lads on the footplate... make those loud boys sing - i'm looking for some chimney music :)

    Sorry you won't be making it to this year's gala - but we look forward to seeing you later.

    I've no doubt you can see what you missed in the mags. From what I've read and heard, it will be some do and not to be missed!

    Beat me too it, famous last words from me saying it was holding up well! At a guess this loco will replace 1501 in the Engine House until the spare pannier boiler is ready so hopefully not too long a rest.

    Dear Robert,
    I am driving on Saturday night. It's only a Mickey Mouse, with 4 on, but I assure you, there will be noise. Enjoy Embsay. Your loss.

    Regards,

    jtx

    The SVR states which ways the visiting locos and 43106 will be facing;

    LMS No. 41241 2-6-2T from the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway (FN).

    GWR No. 4936 'Kinlet Hall' 4-6-0 from Tyseley Steam Centre (FS).

    GNR No. 1744 0-6-2T from Great Central Railway (FS).

    GWR No. 5643 - with thanks to The Furness Railway Trust and the LLangollen Railway (FS).

    We are also pleased to announce the return to traffic at the Gala of home locomotive No. 43106, Ivatt Class 4 2-6-0 (The Flying Pig), after a lengthy period out of service and a major overhaul (FN).

    FN = Facing North
    FS = Facing South

    I take it the south facing locos will head out of Bridgnorth smokebox first?

    Can any SVR MPD/operation people confirm this, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't 43106 Facing Kidderminster and 4936 facing Bridgnorth at the current time?

    They have a turntable at Kidderminster which will be used before the gala.

    Ha ha Here's a man that knows LOL!!!
    Regarding your other post I guess it depends on when that information is from. AFAIK it was only recently the engine directions for the Gala were decided.
