Worthwhile disruption in the shed over the winter, but just when the lads were thinking about shutting those nice new roller doors to keep the cold out!!

Superb development for the railway and something that will aid locomotive availability and speed overhauls considerably. It really is good to see the railway continuing to invest in the the heart of the life blood of the service, the locomotives. Nice also to see this on the end of Malcolm's loco notes on the SVR forum this week.. (http://forum.svra.org.uk/viewtopic.php?t=1250)

    ''Engines not available for use:
    None - all working!''

I wonder if that will still be the case after 56 hours continuous use......?? Fingers crossed!

I noticed at the svr gala this weekend the cab frame of 75069 on it's cab side were the words "awaiting fitting of TPWS, OTMR & Boiler) would this suspect that it is to go mainline perhaps?

Don't build your hopes up too much; you need to appreciate the SVR sense of humour!

During the visit of Tornado, will 41241 still be on the line? I know 1744 is and King Edward 1 are, but will the 2-6-2t?

It is visiting the same time as Tornado arriving Mon 19th Oct from West Somerset. According to the official SVR press release it is to operate alongside Tornado..

"The visit by ‘Tornado’ which is due to arrive on the SVR on Thursday 22nd October, steals some of the limelight from another iconic locomotive which will be visiting the railway - GWR King’ 4-6-0 No. 6024 King Edward I - which is also diagrammed to work half-term holiday trains."

How the timetable will work with Hampton Loade loop out of use I do not know as Tornado was to run in addition to Timetable B.

The site says it was updated on the 23rd October with the locomotive directions, are they correct and will any change before November?

Yes Jordan, thats correct. Mostly boiler/firebox work, because it had an "intermediate" not too long ago, which concentrated on the bottom half. So in that respect could be a relative "quickie". But you never know until you stip 'em down!

The Pannier that has replaced 1501 in the Engine House likewise had bottom half work not too long ago when the crank axle was sorted, so that loco awaits completion of work on the SVR's spare Pannier boiler, which is work in progress. That spare boiler will then be dropped into the Pannier.

Indeed, and in everyday use engines of power classes 3, 4, and 5 are quite adequate, use less coal etc.
The big 'uns are alright in small doses to bring in the customers.
