Trouble is in these days of autocorrect you can spell the damn bloke's name right and still have it wrong when you post.

Something ironic though about flash new technology that looks wonderful on paper stuffing his name up in practice...

But you can configure it in the settings. I've got mine set to auto-correct "CB C*ll*tt" with "dull plodder who failed to see that times had moved on".

Not sure a region that still had Beattie, Adams & Stroudley tanks in decent numbers in the 60's can accuse others of not moving on ;) .

Anyway Deltic 19 was suitably enjoyable last Saturday, running on one engine is more than adequate for preserved running and allows more noise, swapped onto 7812 later in the day as a Bulleid avoidance move.

I think that may only be 3 Beattie 2 Adams and I am sure Tom will know how many Stroudley all on branch line where time was not an issue.
Also having the largest electric network in the uk

Tornado is returning to the Severn Valley Railway (SVR) for the first time in four years to help the railway to celebrate its Golden Anniversary in style. This year marks 50 years since the birth of the Severn Valley Railway on 6th July 1965 and coincidentally also the 50th anniversary of the last passenger run by an original Peppercorn class A1 on 31st December 1965.

Fresh from her intermediate overhaul Tornado will arrive at the Severn Valley Railway on Tuesday 6th October 2015 and depart on Tuesday 27th October.

    Autumn Gala - BREAKING NEWS!
We are thrilled to announce that No. 46100 Royal Scot will be returning to service on the Severn Valley Railway this September for our Autumn Steam Gala!

From the September 17th - 20th, No. 46100 Royal Scot will be back in passenger service for the first time in half a decade, appearing alongside already-confirmed visitor No. 70000 Britannia. Both locomotives are courtesy Icons Of Steam and the Royal Scot Locomotive & General Trust.
Built in 1927, Royal Scot was the first in a new breed of steam locomotives, built by the LMS for their fastest passenger services from London to Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow.
She was chosen to appear on behalf of Britain at the 1933 'Century of Progress' exhibition in Chicago, USA. The locomotive as well as a full rake of carriages were shipped to the United States and appeared not only at the exhibition, but also toured the USA and Canada, even crossing the Rocky Mountains!
Fast forward to 2015, Royal Scot will be steaming again! Following the locomotive's initial testing period at the new LNWR Heritage facility at Crewe Diesel Depot, Royal Scot will move to the Severn Valley Railway by road. Once there she will enter the second phase of her test programme, undergoing light engine and then loaded runs along the 16-mile line.

We know that you are eager to see Royal Scot back in action. That’s why, working with our partners at Icons Of Steam and the Royal Scot Trust, we’re taking the unprecedented decision to publish details of the locomotive's testing schedule, with full details being made available once she arrives at the Railway.

During the test programme, Royal Scot will be running without nameplates or smokebox numberplate, so your first opportunity to travel with Royal Scot will be during our Autumn Steam Gala from September 17th - 20th.

Remember, you can purchase your tickets now and and save!

So, will her nameplates and numberplate be fitted for the gala then? I hope so, but obviously it'll be quite early on in her running in so wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't have them fitted.

The bit on icons of steam says 'The first time you will be able to see her complete will be at the Autumn Steam Gala from the 17 - 20 September' so I take it means with nameplate and numberplate.

I imagine there will be a naming ceremony at some point on the SVR.

Most likely. It would nice for it to run with the LMS set as most of the coach boards bear the words 'The Royal Scot'....

My thoughts exactly. The lovely thing with the LMS set is it does seem to go with most loco's in Red, Green or Black (50135 excepted) it even went rather well with a little blue 0-6-0... This is somthing that has got me really excited. :):):):)
