because it needs assessment for repair or replacement.

Good progress is being made with stripping down 75069's front bogie.

43106 had a broken snifter valve. 2857 rescued the driving school and then worked it forward. 3106 is repaired and will return to service today (Sunday 15th)

Hopefully they've fixed the 28, it failed at Bridgnorth earlier today (it hadn't even got on the train...).

 

Broken tender spring on 2857 (says Pete Cherry), but at the moment she's shown for her booked turn on Sunday

I believe the spring has been replaced but more time needed for getting the weights right

 

The summer season begins proper this coming week as the weekday service is now B till the end of August. A minimum of 3 engines in steam.

I'm on 7802 on Sunday.

 

I spotted 1501 on a low loader tonight heading north on the A1(M). I had time to look around and photograph it as there was a four-hour long wait on the A1(M) due to a major accident. What was it doing there?

Ah-ha, thanks for that. Although I hope the poor souls awaiting its arrival were fed and watered as the affected section of the A1 took over four hours to get through - I passed the area at 10.30 and all/any lay-byes on the side roads used for the diversion were occupied by lorries whose drivers were now well over hours.

 

Not sure when it arrived, but it was already in use for a driverex when I popped over to Wansford on Friday to kill time while waiting for some passports...

 

SVR official fb reports that 7714's boiler (well the one destined for 7714) has passed it's out of frames steam test.
