that was a foolish thing to do on my part ! deciding to move from the field to the hill top , my lungs have just about recovered !

The shot was well worth it with golden light and 7802 on 7 mk1's and obbo on the back . A stunning piece of railway theatre that lifts the heart . Nice to get the first shots of 2009 under the belt as it were and see so many people about

the images are sadly on film but hopefully some will go onto a rejuvenated fotopic in time

Forecast tomorrow is same as today - think I might try the tunnel in the morning and play it by ear (or eye) thereafter

I went along to the Valley today with Mighty Mogul.

The weather was so strange. The cut off point all day re sun and fog was Northwood Halt. Anything north of this point was shrouded in freezing fog and to the south wall to wall sunshine.

At Hampton Loade the fog became so dense, that detonators were deployed.

I decided to stay on the trains (in the warm) - not like Mighty Mogul - who got caught out with the freezing fog in the morning.

Very, very atmospheric conditions. All in all a most enjoyable day.

    Adrian,

42968 looked rather nice at Falling Sands on Sat am. Steam (and gen) much appreciated and made the two hour journey worthwhile.

Got a couple of shots but then had to head off to the Churnet Valley - wished I could have stayed longer but spent a few pounds at Kidderminster Station before I left.

    Regards,

    David
