    The museum should be accessible

D1039: Thanks for the info. On reflection I think it is sensible to leave things until next week, railway still open mid-week, and will be much quieter.

Don't want to have to "argue" my way to the museum this week.

I believe The Railwaymans falls within the 'restricted area' for the duration of 'the event previously known as the highlight of the steam railway year'.

As I understand it, it's going to be Scotsman and Tornado as stars of the show with the 2 Bulleids and 2 Manors as the supporting cast. Can anyone tell me which way they are going to be facing?

    Thanks!

This page says which way they're all facing.

Doesn't detail 60163 or 60103 but at the moment both are facing Kidderminster - 103 was turned when it arrived.

So the locals can't use their 'public' house during the event?

From what I have seen, Bewdley Platform 1 and a large section of the carriage yard are going to be for viewing purposes. Numbers have been agreed.

No trains will run through P1. Up trains will use P2 and Down trains P.3. The south end barrow crossing, staffed and locked, will be for passengers with tickets to access the island platform, for service trains only. Passengers will only be allowed to cross when trains are not approaching, from either direction and the crossing will be closed on instructions from the signalmen in BN or BS. For anyone who leaves it too late, it will be tough luck.

FS and Tornado's trains will be non - stop, and will not enter any station until they have a free run through.

As far as I know, none of the above is confidential, from my reading of the main PP document. I hope this helps and that everyone behaves responsibly and has a good time.

It is going to be busy. For anyone disappointed, don't forget, they will be back. Both engines have been before, without all the hysteria. I had Tornado on a Russ Hillier photo charter last October, and apart from lots of happy photters, there was no-one else around.

Business as usual as soon as the train service is done for the day. So the evening... when most people tend to go to "their" public house...

I wonder if one of the type 20 diesels is somewhere strategic as a "thunderbird" just in case one of the Bulleids plays up along the way? Like SKP on Eardington bank....

I have got the right day, haven't I? Very, very quiet... lots of empty seats throughout the non-Scotsman trains.

It is a Wednesday outside the holiday season remember, unless your hell bent on having it for haulage then I bet it's mostly Pensioners or those on Part time/Shift work out today, the proverbial will hit over the weekend.

I've just been through the SVR Facebook and Twitter accounts and the public's feedback is relentlessly positive thus far.

Tornado was also running today, it arrived at Bridgnorth during a live TV piece from the footbridge.
