The 10 behind 34081 today included 2 dining vehicles.
Set C should have been 8 coaches yesterday (and today) but 2 of the coaches had to be removed due to defective vac cylinders.

No. 34081 92 Squadron and No. 41312 have been such popular performers at our Spring Steam Gala, they'll be operating services next weekend too!

Following their three day appearances, the visiting locomotives will operate alongside No. 34027 Taw Valley for our Southern Sunset weekend on March 25th & 26th.

OK thanks for that. It didn't detract from an excellent day, the best we have had on the SVR. The sounds of those two GWR tanks climbing Eardington bank will stay with me for a long time. Well worth the long drive.

Thanks so much for this. Having ridden the trains all day it's really nice to see videos and photographs from the lineside.

Once again had a fantastic time at the gala Friday and Saturday. My two part video is on-line now, photos to follow later this week. A big thanks to all involved.

    Dear all

Here are a selection of my photos from Sunday. Had a great day riding and walking in the valley, thought the brakevan rides at Highley were a nice touch. Thanks to all those involved.

    Hope you enjoy.

An enjoyable visit, and my thoughts pretty much been mentioned already.

Nice line-up, but the timetable had a lot of slack and especially in the evening that was a fair bit of waiting around. However didn't detract from an enjoyable visit, we shall see you all again soon!

Personally I like gala timetables to have a bit of slack. It's very frustrating sometimes when it only takes one incident early on to knock the timetable out for the rest of the day. The problem is though that when everything goes well it sometimes seems like everything is going slow, so I guess the organisers can't really win!

Unsurprisingly 34081 was the star of the show for me and my fellow BBLS members so here's a couple from Sunday followed by a few from Monday's photo charter.

Nice set - at least you got better weather than those of us who visited at the weekend. My favourite shot of the 3 sequences I was able to take on Saturday - albeit in poor light was

Sunday was hard work. The Pannier that was running ahead of 34081 went up to Bewdley tunnel in very nice light but when our loco followed on the 10 coach job, the sun was nowhere to be seen. Same on Eardington bank. 34081 passes in full dull only for a rainbow to appear over the scene just a couple of minutes later. Oldbury viaduct - nice light at times when waiting trains but when they crossed the viaduct it was a dull as ditchwater. Monday more than made up for it though. After a dull and wet start, the afternoon light was superb.

None. As I was staying in Bewdley, the products of the Bewdley Brewery were sampled. :)

Some great shots there. Yes 34081 was undoubtedly the star of the show and I am looking forward to seeing her again at Swanage and the Mid-Hants this year! Only thing the SVR doesn't have of course is a nice rake of Southern coaches!

My footage from the Saturday and Sunday. Highlights for me were 41312 on load 7 with the LMS set, 1450 on the toplights, and 34053 on load 10 up Eardington Bank!

IIRC last year's had better weather, so even better. I know Kiddy Booking office ran out of Saturday tickets and had to overstamp spare Friday tickets, an occurrance I've seen at ASGs but not SSGs if my memory isn't playing up.
