I will add that what I do know is that we won't be involved in the installation ourselves, the GWR toad brake van coming in to have her brake gear repaired, which reminds me, I really ought to get on with doing the drawings for that!

Down yard.jpg Tail lamp.jpg 40554.jpg As you can see from the attatched pics, the heavy snow has brought work at bewdley to a halt. The chaired sleeper wagon shews how much snow was on everything, while the shot of the yard gives some idea how deep the snow was, there are rails under that, while the pic of my tail lamp from Saturdays guards turn demonstrates how thick and fast it was coming down!
Needless to say, we didn't do much other than tidy and clean the mess van this weekend, so all there is left to say is a big thankyou for everyone that has regularly helped out this year, and to my regular readers (nearly 6000 hits).
Finally, for the benefit of a few of my regular readers, especially Ernestgew, if his card hasn't turned up yet (as it says the same thing!) is to say Nadolig Llawen a blwyddyn newydd dda i chi i gyd (or merry Christmas and a happy new year to you all for those who don't know)

One final post this year, not really an up date, but to draw attention to the vast quantities of work that go on not only asway from the public gaze, but often out of sight of our colleagues.
I did mention in an eariler post, the department's "Oxfordshire branch" by which, I meant Owen's garage where he has been working on some parts for the Toad A and some bits of sign writing. Owen is by no means the only one doing this, infact, most of us have something or other to do with the wagon department taking up a lot of our free time and making use of our skills. Many of these tasks go un-noticed by many, but without them, the whole department would grind to a halt. So, next time you see a gala goods, just think of the cluttered garages, dammaged kitchen work surfaces, piled high dining tables, meetings and long phone calls.
Happy New year folks, and all the best for 2011
