Could it be that the marketing people are expecting "The Tornado Factor"to take efforts and want the max amout of seats available?because usually GALA trains always we see full...

Don't worry Olly, it looks like he was trying to reply to my earlier post, No.73 in this thread.

I'm back, many thanks to the lads and lasses for the South Devon and Bodmin railways for making me welcome, as always!
So to business, and the Mica B has now lost her roof canvass, and had the stray nails and screws removed from the roof. The roof has been sanded ready for the canvass, although heaven knows when we will get chance to do that.
The cattle wagon has had to be flatted down and re-painted in top coat owing to the paint blooming in the cold damp air, so a kerfew has been placed on top coating, of no later than 1 pm. The next stage should be patching up the painting we have missed and sign writing.
The chaired sleeper wagon has had another chain pocket made by Richard, I must get round to finishing reaming the floor.
We have at some point, got to replace the step boards on the dogfish hoppers, before they become too bad, two of these are not actually the SVR's but as we are using them, we will have to repair them.
    Wish us well.
    Olly

    Thanks again Olly.

Can you fill me in on the dogfish, I half-remember some NR wagons coming to the ralway but just not leaving, and now unable to go back on the main line. Are they these?

    Thanks

    Patrick

No mate, those are Rudds, and there is a long story there! The dog fish are hopper wagons, we own one, and I think the Gwilli own the other two. Brought in for the same reason though

    Thanks Olly

    I found this:

"FLOODLINE 27 Tuesday 7th August 2007 Severn Valley Railway - VLO - Floodlines

Last week hopper wagons were delivered from the Gwili Railway Nos DB993126 and DB983194 for the hopper wagon spotters! These will be used to ballast eymore Cutting when access is granted past Northwood slip".

    Brings back (unhappy) memories

well, this is an unusual year as my final report of the year contains the same wagons as my first one. It would take far to long to explain all the external factors that have caused this.
The Mica B now has a new roof canvass, well done to the lads for getting that done yesterday, now the six week task of painting the roof begins!
Outside, work continues to creep forward on 40554, with the stanchion brackets comming together well.
Mess van 80982 got dammaged slightly during the storms of the last couple of weeks, luckyly, the dammage is not severe, and a temperoary repair has been carried out, although hopefully, this wagon will be in for heavy repair soon.
I see this thread has had aroud 8400 hits this year, so thankyou to all my regular readers, and from all of us at Bewdley, Nadolig Llawen a blwyddyn newydd dda.

I would like to echo those thoughts as well on behalf of York Area Group and the lads at Newbridge working on the civils fleet.

Many thanks Lads, I'll be kicking off a new thread in the new year, and hopefully we will see two or three wagons actually turned out very soon,
    Cheers,
    Olly
