    For the first time in I can't remember how many years, I decided to forego the Swanage gala this year as couldn't justify two galas in two weeks and the SVR was a must. Did however pop down on the Sunday to see what was going on and spend a little in the shop. Once again it would appear the railway put on a great show. For me the star was "Dave". A stunning job carried out on its restoration and with only a few teething problems looked and definitely sounded the part. I'll definitely be back in 2024.
