Well you seem to be championing 34 year old stock that it has not proven can even work in a different mode.
And for once actually answer a question one of us poses
Do you want Swanage to be a heritage line or some part of the National Network, because you must have been a politician in a previous life as you never answer a question.

How is supporting innovation part of the heritage model?

I take it you're not seriously expecting a serious answer then? I'm seriously not! People keep pointing out that he's either a troll or a deluded old fart living in the past and unable to accept that things are not as they once were and that we should all just ignore him ignore, yet one or more of us (and I've been guilty too) keep rising to the bait. Just stop it!

Maybe one day we will get an answer.
Plus I have no idea how to put someone on ignore anyway, never seen where that functionality is.

The Railway Touring Company liaise with their operator - West Coast Railway Company - regarding the quantity and types of coaches required plus loco(s) to haul the train. If RTC don't want to hire 31806 for the Swanage Belle on the 8th September that is a matter entirely up to them. And, assuming the train/trains run then you can presume that people can afford the tickets. Should tours be cancelled due to a lack of bookings - then may be passengers can't (or won't) pay the prices listed.
Normally yes - even more so if there's no diesel on the back [whereas, invariably, the Northern Belle has a 47 or 57 loco at either end].
Have no idea about maintenance on 31806. Hopefully someone else may be able to answer that point for you.

May all be irrelevant if no meaningful rain is forthcoming in the next few weeks. We will have lost the firsts two DCE's even if it chucked down for the next 2 weeks.
I did hear 31806 may have been having some attention prior to one of its annual checks.

Weymouth station has some canopy supports fitted with a water supply and retractable hose reels allowing SWR staff to tank SWR units.
Not sure if charters are allowed to use the facility.
Also, not sure if there are any hoses long enough to water stock not under the canopy.

Trouble is we are never in the platform long enough to use them Peter. About 8 minutes on arrival and about 10 prior to departure. There was a time we did use them to quickly water the kitchen car but I think the station staff may have complained because of the hose across the platform.

Fully prepared for any unexpected snowfall :) D6515 approaches Harmans Cross with a heat timetable service on July 18.
Also nice to see a set of BR corridor ends in use. Not sure I can remember that at Swanage before.

From The Southerner's youtube channel 33111 on holiday in Hampshire, doing a push pull service with LU's 4TC.

Maybe in 2023 will see 33111 push pull with SR's own blue grey 4TC? Will not fit in with the SR's current 50's era theme, (along with the Victorian 563), but will evoke some people's memories.

Read the Global Warming/Climate change thread on NP. HR will face limited operations in the future because this trend is going to continue Y/N?
Cast a brief eye on the situation in Bournemouth over the weekend per the Bournemouth Echo.
closing one eyes or mind to a problem does not make it go away
Alternatives are being developed. Is the HR ready for that
..and if a class 484,over 40 yrs old, cannot be classed as Heritage please excplain!@

I repeat my question - bearing in mind that the 484s have been entirely refurbished internally from their days on the District Line.

Yes,and the moles are digging furiously even in the face of game changing temperatures, congestion and pollution(See Bournemouth Echo)_Arguing split infinitives over what is,or is not Heritage.
view the SR webcams today; passengers few and far between.whereas environmentally friendly units COULD be operating down from Wareham.
One doubts that there is an official definition of Heritage even from the HRA

AFAICS the HR movement will have to accept changes,or,like a Swanage Bay Ice cream on a hot July day, melt away!

Perhaps those missing passengers have something to do with the advice not to travel at all unless essential - regardless of mode. In which case those environmentally friendly units would be accompanied by the sound of burning £10 notes as they carry just as few people.

Does anyone have to ride in the 33 when propelling?

But yes, brings back the memories, also as when they had the ex Lymington GIG at Swanage its as close as you can get to riding in an EMU
