Could the Q1 visit and be displayed somewhere? Maybe in the bay at Swanage.

The NRM might agree to release it (for display at Corfe Castle as the bay at Swanage will be in passenger use).
Two lorries from York [each doing 600 mile round trip] would cost many £thousands which makes the idea unaffordable I think - unless you want to sponsor it of course.

Would have to pile them on top of each other as the loco shed coaling road and 50ft turntable combined has space for 2 Bulleids only.
The Goods Shed road has space for possibly 4 Bulleids in a row although I've never measured it.
    Looking forward to this event.

Strictly speaking the highest number of Bulleids in one place since 1967 would be the 10 merchants and 18 light pacifics in Barry!:)

I believe I read somewhere that 35006s first non-GWSR appearance would be at the MHR End of Southern steam gala in July. Could well be wrong tho.

The obvious line up for me would be the home 2, Braunton, KP and 92 Squadron (assuming its finished in time)

We're nearly there. Tender and loco reattached to each other yesterday. Next week we've booked a "clean week" in the shed so we can finish the painting.

If a MN is on the wish list to ensure there is a "full house" of the different types of Bulleid Pacific, 35006 is the only contender, as 35005 won't be ready for some time, 35028 sounds like it will be only just ready for the July anniversary and 35018, which of course, "will be ready when it's ready" is most unlikely to visit a heritage line to work service trains. West Coast locos rarely do. There is a precedent, however. 34067 worked through to Swanage in May 2009 with the first through steam-hauled train since 1967 and after the return working departed for London behind a class 37, 34067 then worked a sevice train with 34070 - double heading tender-to-tender from Swanage to Harman's Cross and then top & tail back.

I think two spam cans double heading would look quite good. Maybe a good photo charter?

It's been done before. 34072 and 34105, 34081 and 21C123, 34081 and 34007. Also some d/h rebuilds. What we haven't had AFAIK is d/h original WCs or d/h original BBs.*

*34067 and 34070 worked a rail tour on the Swanage but not sure they weren't tender to tender. Someone on here will know.

What would be great if all the Bulleids could be renumbered to loco that lasted to the end of southern steam.

34081 will be the wrong shade of green for that but I like your idea.

I was there to see this. Mentioned in my previous post:-
NO! If so, that's one visitor less. Correct ids please. One factor that made me plump for Swanage rather than the MHR in 2007 was that the locos kept their correct numbers. Let's enjoy the locos which have survived and be grateful for what we have got rather than be constantly pining for those that didn't make it.
