    In answer to your questions:-

    1. A day rover allows for unlimited travel on the day of issue, and a normal return allows for one break of journey on the return. If you are looking to cross between passing trains, while connections aren't guaranteed, you can often make a connection at Corfe over the footbridge. Harmans X is usually a bit tighter, as the official route between the 2 platforms is out of the station and over the road bridge at the Swanage end.

    2. There are 3 train sets in operation, 2 running the full line and 1 only running shuttles between Norden and Harmans X (the half way point).

    3. You can get to Herston Works from either Swanage or Herston stations, about a 20-25 minute walk from each. From Swanage, leave the station and turn left at the mini-roundabout (past the end of the platform). Carry on down that road to the traffic lights and turn left. Again, carry on down that road until the road bears left past a garage; the works is the large grey building in the industrial estate after the garage.

From Herston, go out of the station and turn left. Go out to the main road and left again. Carry on along there until road goes over the railway, and the industrial estate is on the left hand side. I believe there is a footpath that cuts between the first road and the main road, but I can't say I've ever used it! Please note that Herston is a request stop.

    4. You should be able to see all of them, although to see 34010 Sidmouth you will need to go on the 'Beyond Norden' trip in the early evening.

Hope you have a good visit, any other queries please feel free to PM.

    Regards

    Nick

Excellent free program, well done Swanage. Loco diagrams to follow??!! Even better.

Any ideas what way the locos are facing? I know the Bulleids have to face out of Swanage (to enable watering) but what about 88, is that short enough to face into Swanage?

Not too sure which way 88 will be facing. I dare say the same as the Bulleids.

And the FREE program for those who havnt seen the other thread...

May be of interest to some

Before I get accused of evesdropping into some highly secret meeting to find out road movements, its not hard to spot a loco on the back of a lorry on the road ](*,)

I was undecided as to whether to go to the MHR or Swanage. I've decided on the latter due to the excellent way the railway have handled the week ahead of the gala.

The information available is quite simply the best I've ever come across. The booklet is better than any I've bought - like others a suitable donation will be made to show my appreciation.

    Well done!

I was hopeing to be first to say the 7F had arrived, but been beatened to it. I know though casue I saw it being unloaded when my Bus home from being ticket inspector went pass, later passing a tender going the other direction just south of Wareham.

For the first time in years I going to Swanage as a enthusiast only! Going the Saturday. Will try and get on the train beyond Norden which will be fun.

One warning though, the 7F is at the moment point the other way to which Manston and Eddystone are facing...

I guess he's after the passing shot with the Bulleids.

Such a shame it's not the Black 7F though...

Was looking forward to some classic S&D double header photos on the 0900 ex-Sw with Eddystone (Friday) and Manston (Sat). Won't look quite so good if the 7F pilots tender first. Any chance of splitting it and turning it on the Saturday evening to get the best of both worlds?

Sorry to dissapoint you. However, I hope the visit of 88 to Swanage is a continuation of a decent relationship between WSR & SR with regard to each others locos. Eddystone to WSR in March, 88 Swanage. 80104 could very well be visiting WSR next year.

Bit of a stupid question, how much does it cost to travel?

It says on the website that the bus is free ( numerous times), how much to get into the transport rally, and how much to motala, but not how much it costs to go on the trains ?
