Please see http://www.dorsetforyou.com/media.jsp?mediaid=174385&filetype=pdf for an update on this project. The report proposes limited services to Wareham starting in summer 2013 with a full service in 2015.

    best wishes,
    Nigel

Interesting. These minutes talk about the Wareham service operation by the Swanage Railway because it'd be more economic than a commercial company, and of refurbishing DMUs. Is that a new change? I thought there was a recent plan to have it operated using more modern stock/diesel top/tailed by a TOC?

Could this have anything possibly to do with this proposal?

Afraid not; as stated in the linked thread, this unit is planned for component recovery and subsequent scrapping.

I see a very full update on the reconnection project has been posted on the Swanage Railway website - see Swanage to Wareham Daily Service Update for some very interesting reading. Sounds like it is all moving ahead and that the earliest a trial service might start is summer 2014.
