Crikey, I thought, she's doing well up through Saunderton. Then I realised why. The diesel was shoving the Jub.

Yes, galloping up hill with steam to spare and we can see why. Nevertheless, two lovely clips there and Galatea looks and sounds good..

And that surely is the point. I don't mind some assistance to prevent line delays, as long as the star of the show is putting on a good performance, and judging by the shovelling rate of the fireman they were working it hard, after all it was only two thirds of the way to the summit at that point.

I was at the foot crossing at Kings Sutton. Wasn't expecting much after she was held at Aynho for the Oxford - Banbury stopper to go ahead, but was very happy as Galatea opened up through the station and absolutely thrashed past (didn't hear the diesel doing anything here), sounding wonderful.

First time I've seen a Jubilee working hard - definitely a fan !!

Gambled with the light and lost though - a shot from the bridge would have been better, but had the sun come out as it was threatening to do (and did, a few minutes later), it would have meant shooting straight into the glare

See I told you the sun was shining in Shropshire. 45699 making a rather rapid and smoky passage through Cosford, on time !.

    DSC_5622 45699 Cosford 050616.JPG

And then making a smart getaway northbound, back to Carnforth as Uksteam suggests ?. Passing Yorton.

Let's see what turns up on Wednesday.

Galatea sounded very nice today, though hard to judge her on a performance level, as the 47 was in full voice unfortunately, especially out of Banbury !

45699 Galatea seen accelerating away from her water stop in Banbury, filmed at Little Bourton. Hope you enjoy.

Galatea at Lea Hall, either being given a shove or shutting off ahead of taking the junction at Stetchford.

I'm glad I managed to drag my backside out the pit this morning to see this, its not often steam goes past my back door!

45699 made a very welcome change from the usual fare darn sarf - so hat off to WCRC for getting her down.

She could be heard for a long time before she hove into view, attacking the grade from Greenford to South Ruislip, even given the noise I think she was getting a shove as she turned up 3 early, though it was hard to tell if the box was doing owt when she passed me...................

Surprisingly, there were 6 of us at Ickenham Green today, though the local dog walkers thought there was a rare bird in the green stuff & showed no interest in 45699, but I bet if they were told 60103 was passing, the whole area would've turned up in a nano second!

Below, a link to my effort from this morning - I was glad for the cloud for a change, as the sun was toying with us & was in totally the wrong point in the sky, never mind the shrubbery needs a haircut.

Galatea in fine form at Old Milverton and Marston Green today. Not much Brush action the two times I saw it.
