What exactly is the latest position with this train? According to UK Steam it was due off York at 17.37. It is now nearly 20.37. Going to be some very unhappy passengers.

Last I heard was they are still waiting for the 37 and hopefully with time made up due to missing out the water stops they are hoping to be back at Crewe around an hour down.

Thought passengers were getting bussed home? 37516 currently somewhere around Church Fenton.

Edit - arrived at York at 2042.

37516 at York - but some passengers still at Scarborough? (My mistake - I didn't realise return train had reached York with steam).

37516 now hooked up to the front. Train reported to be stopping at all booked stations on its way back to Crewe.

Anyone know what actually happened at Holgate? Were passengers stuck on the train for 4 hours? When was 48151 removed from the train? York to Carnforth should take about two and a half hours. That could potentially mean 6 hours without any heat for the passengers, not a nice experience.

If the 8F did stay on the train whilst waiting, at least it would of been able to provide heat. Saying that, being stuck in a siding for 3-4 hours is no fun anyway.

Ouch. Just seen this. Not good. I didn't think that vegetation was tinder-dry, given the weather we've had recently, but there it is :(
