With a 2017 arrival for this tour I'd imagine the other 3 railtours would have left Penzance by then.

Linesiders could be bowled by double-headed Class 37s! It will be nice passing them all on the way down.
Also, I imagine that 6024 will be piloting if 5029's support coach is attached to the front of the train at Exeter, then 6024 would hook back on the front of 5029.

Where is 6024 at the moment? When will it be coming to London for departure? Stabled at Southall perhaps overnight? Thanks in advance for info.

Currently at West Ealing (the yard just West of the station) apperently. I presume the stock will attach there and be dragged back into Paddington.

According to times on uksteam, the steam leg now finishes at Par, with 1015 power to Penzance on the Saturday. Still listing doubleheaded steam on the Monday out from Penzance. Anyone know why ?

There was a mention eariler in the thread about clearance under a bridge at Hayle.
More clearance on the up side than the down?
Althought this doesn't explain how the locos will get to Penzance,
unless they go wrong line under the bridge

Does anyone know which bridge has the problem? Is it this one?

Have booked B&B in Cornwall for Sat & Sun nights. Hoping to make up for GB3 not visiting Cornwall at Easter. Let's hope the weather holds!

I have the updated timings thanks to Roger Smith. The timings from Padd-Exeter
(1Z81) are as uksteam. The timings vary slightly between Exeter and Par. <BJ>

The most likely areas where you are likely to see the other trains are:

    Class 56 Plymouth 18:02-18:07,
    2 x 67s pass Liskeard 18:34
    2 x 37s pass Largin 18:54.

    Hope this helps. <BJ>

The timings for Monday are identical to uksteam apart from a suggested
departure time of 09:02 from Penzance. The headcode is 1Z31. <BJ>

Popped out to see it just west of Wootton Bassett Junction at a place called Tockenham Wick. Lovely roar considering it's only E +C, and going like the clappers! Slightly mis-timed pan shot attached.

Thanks. The frame I fired off at the point where I wanted the loco (slightly before the one here, and without the bush!) suffered from vertical blurring from me 'dropping' the camera. This, later frame, is sharper but at the expense of that bush obscurring the rear driver. I was experimenting with this one anyway - cranking the shutter down to 1/30 knowing full well that I was limiting my chances of a sharp capture of the loco. 5029 is through Swindon three times next week so I felt it was worth the risk on this occasion!

Would someone be kind enough to post the number of coaches and colour please? TIA. <BJ>
