A good day yesterday. Sensible start and finish times, plenty of spirited running (when the late running service trains were not in the way), a storming climb of Sapperton (36 into the tunnel) and the rather nice sight of a Britannia at the buffer stops at Paddington. We could have done without the Euston start - Euston to Reading in 90 min must be some kind of record - but that was unavoidable. But the real interest point for me was the slick way that the stock shunt was managed at Shrub Hill. Ollie pulled its train in TF with its support coach attached behind the tender, uncoupled, ran round and reassembled at the front in no time. And how was that done. My guess is that it was helped a great deal by real people in a signal box watching what was actually going on and responding accordingly. Well done to the NR staff.

    Thankyou Steve.

Seems strange during the redoubling that Moreton in Marsh actually gained some semaphores rather than having new colour lights, not that im complaining of course.

Thanks for the comments Mark, could you tell me exactly where (mins:secs) on the vid you hear this distortion?
I've watched it a couple of times now (480p) with the cans on and can not hear anything untoward, what youtube setting are you watching it at? I have the camera set to AGC-6db so the original should be OK but if you let me know the time I can then check the originals.

I got lucky :) You'll also notice I edited a small section out of the going away part, I had a bit of a wobble!

I'm a bit late with this, caught it Saturday at West Drayton, still better late than never!
