As in - no steam on the York NE area?

What are the coaches dating back to the 1920's they advertise - Pullmans maybe?

Clever move by WCRC, but not surprising.
Good planning using, similar departure points in Yorkshire, so that previous passengers who have used the Scarborough charters in the past, can travel to a different destination, and enjoy steam at the same time.
    Brand loyalty!
Maybe they could be anticipating FS 4472 in Summer next year on Scarborough charters - would avoids duplicated charters, and if it operates, WCRC will no doubt be the operating TOC anyway.
Scary thought, that with the other regular Summer charters on the Settle & Carlisle route, with the Fellsman, and other charter company's, the route might run out of paths - or passengers!

Presumably now Hellifield will be re-coded to an LMS shed code (again) only becoming either sub-shed of 10A or regain its old code of 20G or 24H?

I missed the Hellifield wording too !
Its an earlier start, longer day more expensive but more for your money with all 3 classes too.
Seems a good chance for the 'Scar Spa Exp' towns to get a trip somewhere else and worth a shot to me.

.....so does this mean initially a diesel each end to reverse back out of Leeds ?

Different audience required compared the SSE, this has no family appeal at all, a long trip to Carlisle with kids? I don't think so. The cost is also up by a third compared to the SSE and of course there is no £20 add on here. It seems to me the battle wih LNE region is not going to be easily dropped by Mr Smith. It was also have an impact on the Fellsman trains, however as a photographer you have to be happy that there will steam both ways over the S&C 3 days a week.

Given the reliability record of Carnforth locos I can see a lot of derv being used!

I might be wrong although they have refurbished a rake of Pullmans for a new venture "Spirit of the Lakes"...I think the idea is to compete with Belmonde..

Suspect the market for this will be the tour companies who will (a) block book (b) join at intermediate stations and (c) provide guaranteed income per train. I hope that there will still be enough spaces for potential of "pay on the day" for people wishing to join at Hellifield and - if so - that sufficient car parking space be made available. I for one would be happy to join at Hellifield for a round trip but lack of car parking at either Hellifield or Settle does make this thought a serious drawback.

Might be consideration of stabling steam at Haworth, especially with the 45212 links. Another incentive to get 34092 out of captivity too if there is a regular turn on the doorstep.

Wonder if Morecambe instead of Scarborough has been considered as a destination?

No mention of pickups at Hellifield or Settle states "Boarding at York, Normanton, Wakefield, Leeds, Shipley, Keighley and Skipton." I suspect loco change will be in the loop at Hellifield.
