ECS from Carnforth to Poole Sidings reported on WRGEN as being about 80 minutes down at Oxford behind 47804 and 47826. Due to run to Poole this evening instead of running down from Southall tomorrow morning - will try and advise in morning what takes the trip out from Poole DH (ta to RS and others on WRGEN)

Here's my video of Bittern on the Dartmouth Express.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94b3mUstAg8

The weather was dull and damp throughout the day. Videos taken at Whiteball and Powderham on the outward leg, Starcross and Tiverton Parkway on the return.

I haven't had a problem before with the links to YouTube so don't know why this time. I've 'fiddled' about a bit and it seems to be working now on the original link - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94b3mUstAg8

    Thanks for your help.

Exeter-Kingswear/Dartmouth enjoyed on saturday with an excellent climb on Torre. Train was full and on time. 60019 seemed on v gd form
Dawlish Warren--we were looped on the up main whilst a n/b cross-country passed on the platform(up loop). This was clever--prob 60019 was not guaged for the loop.
New Goodrington up loop --- we were the FIRST passenger train to use this loop(or so I was told) Def the first A4 or RTC charter to use it.........

Last RTC train to Kingswear? RTC had planned a series of charters with agreed dates but this is now in doubt. I heard a rumour that the steam railway(new name imminent) want a "preferred partner" as well as a max of ONE charter a week. RTC had planned(agreed??) 6 charters on non-peak days which could have added 2-3000 visitors to Dartmoth. As a trader there I have a vested interest. Oh,and yes,it has been a v quiet winter and ALL charters by ALL operators are welcome by the locals...........

A v.v good trip. Sad that it seems likely to be a RTC wake

No prizes for guessing who that will be...

I don't see a big issue there, the 'one offs' don't tend to run in peak summer when the repeat itineries do, so no real competition if this 1 a week thing is true.

The new name is the Dartmouth Steam Railway and River Boat Company and their new website is here http://www.dartmouthrailriver.co.uk

I also enjoyed the trip out on Saturday to see Bittern unfortunatley I was trackside and no on the trian but the run through Torre was extremely impressive, and the run through Torquay on the way down was apparently well received even the safety valves lifting too.

I also took some pics of Bittern and they can be seen here http://kelvinsphotos.fotopic.net/c1827953_1.html
Could you tell me which picture you like best as I have two favouites which i can't decide on!!
