We didn't travel on Saturday so have no idea whether the Brit suffered bouts of slipping, but this appeared on the Icons Site yesterday:

Whilst working ‘The Dartmouth Express’ from Westbury to Paignton and return on Saturday 24th the footplate crew became aware of a vibration issue whilst the locomotive was travelling at speed. It was judged that Britannia could safely operate the passenger service as planned as far as Westbury and continue on to Southall in engine and support coach formation.

At present we are unable to determine the precise cause of the vibrations, however our initial assessments indicate that this is not a case of a wheel having slipped on an axle, as was the case two years ago.

Our team at Southall are working to establish the precise nature and extent of the problem in order that we can look to effect repairs as soon as possible, however due to the lack of information at this time, it is not possible for us to judge how long this is likely to take.

I joined the train at Paignton for the return journey and there was no slipping, she performed brilliantly, but passengers who was on the train in the morning said she was slipping especially on leaving Westbury and on the Paignton and Kingswear sections, of course it was raining on the outward trip but weather cleared up in the afternoon for the return trip

Listening to the soundtrack of the video posted by AlexGWR1994, 70000 can be heard going into a high powered slip on the climb to Whiteball, the driver caught it very quickly mind.

    Cheers,

    Alan
