Just like to say, my tickets have just came through 08:19 departure from Moor Street and into Paddington 13:10 and leaving back at 16:15. On the outward leg we have a photostop at Banbury, which should be good for any people on here who aren't riding on the trip but want to photograph. Seem to remember from my last time up at Banbury that there are ticket barriers now installed.

Thanks James. Does it say what time/duration the Banbury stop is?

Don't suppose it will be like the photostops in the US and elsewhere, with the train backing up for a mile and then coming rushing through the station empty........ :photo:

Surely it would be better if those who aren't travelling (and so can get their photos elsewhere) gave those who have paid for the train to run the opportunity to get their photos.

Steve from GWR - I think it's an hour, sadly I don't have the tickets with me and I was only half listening to my parents over the phone when they rang yesterday! I'll get back to you with more information.

I remember, think it was 2002, on the King Circular, when we flew through Banbury, and wish I was on the platform filming as appossed to window hanging, but it's moments like that which you remember for years to come...still trying to see if anybody filmed that run through Banbury, but sadly I can't find anything on youtube.

Just to let you know there isn't a photo stop at Banbury. Just a two minute stop to pick up passengers.

    From a normally reliable source:
    Moor St 0824
    Solihul 0835 - 38
    Dorridge Loop 0845 - 0912
    Dorridge station 0914 - 17
    Warwick Parkway 0931 - 35
    Banbury 1006 - 08
    Hinksey North 1048 - 1120 Water stop
    Didcot Parkway 1136 - 1143
    Reading 1206
    Slough 1229
    Paddington 1304

Diesel will take the ECS, with 5043 on the rear, from Paddington 1336 to Park Royal 1402 - 06, then 5043 will lead to Southall 1423. Diesel will drag the train back to Paddington.

    Return:
    Paddington 1620
    Slough 1649
    Reading 1716
    Didcot Parkway 1734
    Hinksey North 1752 - 1822 Water Stop
    Banbury 1849 - 1907
    Warwick Parkway 1934 - 36
    Dorridge 1951 - 53
    Solihul 1957 - 59
    Moor St 2010

I know these times differ slightly from those given by james111983 above, and I don't know whether his information is more up-to-date than mine.

Those times sound about right to me as it seems VT timings given out are usually slightly earlier than the booked NR ones, no bad thing to ensure punctuality.

As for the Banbury photo stop James mentions, on my letter it reads more as though referring to the return leg than outward and the timings above appear to suggest likewise.

I think the timings above are slightly out because there is a Chiltern service that follows more or less those timings (1V22 Snow Hill - Oxford) so probably 3 or 4 minutes ahead or after those I would think. 25 mins is a long time in Dorridge loop!

I'm very tempted to chase this one around. I reckon I could see it at Yarnton and Reading, then hop on a 125, overtake and get it arriving at Paddington....... Mind you, if it's held up and doesn't have its long water stop at Hinksey, that could all go horribly wrong!

Probably waits for a Bournemouth or Reading train to pass from New Street.

Just like to say, people on hear mentioning my post about the times are correct. Sorry for miss informing about the outward station stop, those mentioned on uksteam and those quoted on page 5 tie in with those issued on the letter with the tickets. Saltydog thank you for your message yesterday.

Really looking forward to this....the period charm of the refurb at Moor Street...with a Pannier bringing in the stock with a Castle with regalia on the front should really set the scene, for what I hope, will be another day with Vintage Trains that will not be forgotten!

Just got to drive up to Leamington Spa now at silly o'clock to catch a train up to Moor Street!

I've heard that the Inter-City headboard should be up front for tomorrow's run.
