Nice of the Black 5 to give some front end assistance to the hard working tail gunner. :D
    Good footage though.

Mr Riley always sends out grade A locomotives, no question about that, as for the rest of your post, you seem to have a problem with the way WCRC run their business. They are not fools and over the years they have served the railtour industry well (very well, without WCRC there wouldn't be a railtour industry.)
Their engineering department is not too shabby either.
I have no connection to WCRC, my claim to fame is that I once met James on Wakefield Kirkgate station and we had a short chat.:)

That is such a disappointing comment.

I don't have a problem with the way they run their business. That's their business. What I find more of a problem is the way their actions impact on other set-ups and their financial stability.

Send me a PM and I'll explain if you are interested.

From the Railway Touring Company (via Facebook)

'That's a wrap, yesterday was the final day of our Great Britain XVI and what a fantastic 9 days we have all had.
So many highlights, too many to list them all but to travel over 2000 miles by steam in 2024 is an amazing achievement by all involved to make it possible.
Our Riley & Son E Ltd Locomotive Engineers who did not hesitate when asked this year to take the lead throughout and of course our operating company West Coast Railways. Without them the GB XVI would not have been possible.
A big thank you to our onboard catering team from Gravy Train Catering, delicious food all prepared fresh on board, their staff work incredibly hard to deliver the best for our customers year after year.
And of course, a huge thank you to our own on board team of stewards.
So many people make this possible, Network Rail planners, our water tanker suppliers, our dedicated luggage team....the list is endless.
Last but definitely not least a heartfelt thank you to our customers and loyal supporters, who make all the hard work worth it. To hear their gratitude and appreciation along with the joy of what they have experienced really does mean the world to us.
To all of you that said, "will there be one next year?" here's to the start of planning GB XVII - see you in 2025''.

Well done to all involved in organising and running this mammoth tour. I enjoyed it immensely, both the railway side and getting to meet some of you after many years of seeing the tour from the other side of the lineside fence. Yes, I would have preferred Mk1s, fingers crossed for next year, but it was still quite an experience. The Kyle day when we were at the front with the 5 running tender first was magic
