Great Britian II Wednesday 8th April

RTC site still shows this routed via Crewe and taking on water there, UKSteam however gives the route as Chester, Frodsham Warrington with water taken at Chirk, I would guess that the latter is correct knowing that RTC are not very good at updating their web site :-k

I've not heard anything to the contrary of UKSteam.
As you say I'd be more inclined to believe them.

Regarding the positioning move from Bury to Glasgow of 45321+45407 on the 9th April does anyone have the running times.

    Regards

I'm sure you know about the loco-movements page on the UKSteam.info site. I expect times will appear there a few days beforehand. However, if you need them sooner, then you need to find someone with access to TRUST, or perhaps e-mail Ian Riley (who I notice has desserted National Preservation to open a rival attraction in another part of town!)

UKSteam.info has come up trumps and posted timings for the whole tour now (many thanks GWR4090, and to your contributors).

I've just had a look at the times for Sunday 12th, and was surprised that the train takes 52 minutes from Inverkeithing (north end of the Forth Bridge, IIRC) to Edinburgh Waverley, and is routed via "Haymarket W Jc" and "Niddrie W Jc". Does that mean it goes around the southern suburban loop? I'm guessing there are clearence problems on the direct route, perhaps the tunnels west of the station - would that be right?

Sunday's route from Inverness to Aberdeen, Dundee and Edinburgh is new territory for me; likewise Monday's run from Edinburgh to York. I have some gradient profiles and O.S. Landranger maps, but would really appreciate some recommendations for good video locations. Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes steam is banned through Princes Street Gardens (tunnels) so yes it will go Suburban.
