The area between Aisgill viaduct and the road bridge will soon disappear as a photographic location, given the amount of saplings planted there

Sounds as if the land owners are in a lose / lose situation, complaints if they cut their trees down then more complaints when they plant new ones? o_O.

I would settle for network rail chopping down the trees at the lineside

I can’t say either views appeal that much. Those trees are alien to the Yorkshire Dales landscape, as are the remnants of them. If I were to choose, I’d go for as it currently is. At least you get the Fells beyond.

Will that lot have all gone out by rail from Ribblehead? Blea Moor northern portal seems to be where they’re working at the moment.

I would assume the fallen trees did depart from Ribblehead at some point Ian . My opinion was that I liked it as it was but you can’t please everybody all of the time . :)
