Think 5305 in her 1989 guise would be great at the Fort at some point this year. Can't see it though.

The SRPS's West Highlander Railtour has been cancelled due to stock issues. 62005 "Lord Of The Isles" will open the 2013 season of the Jacobite.

If as reported 61306 is joining the WCR pool is it or 44932 likely to support 62005 in the first half of the season? No evidence that the listed 45231 is imminent but 61994 is in traffic presently and the usual super subs 4871 or 5407 are fit too.

It appears that 61994 is going to be the regular engine for The Fellsman. 46115 has tyre issues and 5699 is fresh out of the shops and hence an unknown quantity. 44932 and 5690 will be ready when they are ready (as you might expect) So given the motive power situation at the moment some engines might be seeing a great deal of work through the summer. 61306's return to the mainline fold could prove to be very welcome. Ian Riley may well be called upon to work minor miracles yet again - nothing new there. There are alot of trains to be worked over the season and there are always some engines that have to drop out of the various pools so expect some changes as the year goes on. Is there any one engine that might be expected to satisfactorally work any of the range of excursions being marketed over the Summer?

Here is my thinking. 4871 and/or 5407 shall join the K1. I think that is safe.
4932: I'm surprised she is not in action
5305: a question mark, but either Carnforth or Crewe, being penciled in for Crewe, Still a question. Surprised again.

Will they take the stock or a separate move with the R&S 37?

37 and both steam to rendezvous with stock at Carlisle. 44871 first week duty and then sharing with K1 until 45231 arrives in June. 44871 will then undertake the pm workings, presume air braked set.
    As per The Works site.

    And need for air brakes?

If anyone observes todays empty stock I would be interested to know the formation (including carriage numbers). If it is indeed the air-braked stock for the PM 'Jacobite' it may well be that some different carriages are to be used this year.

As I understand it, in previous years when the air-braked PM 'Jacobite' has run catering has been provided using the unique Mark 2F air-conditioned APT-P prototype Buffet Car 1800. A suggestion is that this year Mark 2C Buffet Standard 6528 is to be used, thus giving a more uniform appearance to the set for photographers.

In previous years I have never been 100% of the air-braked carriages used on the PM 'Jacobite'. Thus, I would be very interested in any formations observed (including carriage numbers) in past years.
