    Many thanks indeed for this - would love to have been on this outing, but at least its only three weeks to go to the Cornishman and all there is to look forward to with that trip.

    Sounds like a reasonable decision, but for interest I looked at the four inbound tours I have been on.
    29/9/12 34067 and 53808 (88 in those days) load 12
    8/8/15 3850 load 10 after 70000 and POB removed at BL
    13/8/16 53808 load 10 after 45699 and POB removed at BL
    12/8/17 Rostered to be 53808 but Class 47 due to air braked only coach in set, load 10 after 60009 and POB removed at BL

    All of those tours were strangely on dry and mainly sunny days!

    From a discussion on another forum I think you can ban the public (as railway land is not a public place) but why would you want to. What you can not do of course is ban ticket holders, even though some jobsworth at West Drayton told me a few years back that my ticket only allowed me to wait for the next train to my destination, not for the railtour to come through first!
