We went to Chilworth station which was deserted when we arrived. Shortly before 60163 came along it became crowded on the Guildford direction platform and not too good for photo's. But it was another impressive display from the A1. The sound was superb and we could hear her pretty much from departing Shalford. Pictures to follow when I have had time to get them off the camera (probably Thursday after we have been on the special CE with 34067 on Wednesday).

Chilworth is always crowded for some reason, yet the bridge to the East is normally empty (although you have to be tall or bring a ladder to get the best view)

Yes we recently had a look at this bridge and couldn't believe how high they had made the sides. There was only one person (that we could see) on there on Saturday. We had intended to go to a foot crossing near Albury but decided against this as the light was going fast.

That was me, having hot footed it from Shalford.

Its a good location if a little dark at this time of year.
(Actually I was joined by a local who said he had heard many steam trains go by but that's the first he had seen and two cyclist who stopped for a look.)

this is the view from the bridge:

you can see the station behind the train.

Tornado roars through Cholsey on the main. Taken from the footplate of 'Cumbria' waiting in the bay with a service for Wallingford.

A couple of shots from a crowded Chilworth station now that the uploader is working. I am not as near the edge of the platform as it would appear as I had a large lens on my camera.
