I have just heard there is a possibility that the tour will not be going via the Copy Pit route due to the late running. The train left Derby shortly after 2pm as it was held waiting for a path. I will update if there is any more news.

Latest update from the Railtours live service seems to confirm my post at #62.

Route from Brighouse is Man Vic via Rochdale.

A bit dissapointing for those on board who were looking forward to Copy Pit but they have certainly got in a bit of extra steam mileage and at least will be back at a reasonable time.

The Dippie and Halsall show reports passing Belper at 14.30 - so - Sheffield - 15.00, take water - 15.30 extrapolate on booked timings after that by adding around an hour and a half.

Return is by the Calder Valley

This is similar to the info I have so will be roughly two hours down on the original timings until Brighouse. I have also heard that they are aiming to be back at Manchester at around 7-7.15pm.

When I lobbed up mention of my short video I had no idea of the problems facing West Coast Rail, Network Rail and the footplate and support crews. Looks like they're all doing a great job of saving the day for the passengers. Well done so far and I hope the efforts are much appreciated (and ultimately successful).
