I sincerely hope it is running, not just for myself but for the passengers too. It would be a real slap in the face for it to have been postponed 4 times then suddenly cancelled 5 days before for something that isn't even an issue at this time of year.

It would seem that the Merseyside Streak has been cancelled due to FBU action so not looking good for the Tin Bath unless there are issues specific to the Liverpool trip.

Just rang RTC. The Tin Bath is postponed. A new date will be published ASAP.

Strange that, I've just looked on the Works and there is a post there from someone who has called TRC recently and was told decision not yet made...???

Well at least it's been knocked on the head before Thursday when I was due to set out on an 800 mile round trip to travel on it. I've already done that once in May & wouldn't be best pleased at doing it again.

I really feel for RTC. Just when it was finally looking like a runner and nine coaches full up. I suppose every organised Bonfire Night party up and down the land this Sat and Sun will also be postponed. As 2J implies, I hope not too many passengers have lost too much money on it. I wonder when the next window of opportunity will be.

You got me worried as I cancelled our Preston accommodation. Just rang again and it is confirmed postponed.

Which makes it look like, 'use any excuse to damage the steam charter business'.

The FBU have been on strike a fair bit over the years - don't remember this ever being an issue previously?

I think you're ever so slightly crazy, just like Arthur. :)
Great clip though. Not that my parents thought that when he appeared on Top of the Pops.

Maybe it will be redated for one of the weekends in the new year when the CME is unable to run or an occasion with more daylight hours.

Wansbeck Saturday, Tin Bath Sunday in March would suit me to cut down the miles to the start.
