Does this mean that effectively the 2014 run has been canceled and this is a 2015 run.. or is there a 2nd run planned later in 2015 ?

I reckon the Cotton Mill circuit would make a good variation on the WinterCME run.. 86259 to Preston or Stockport.. then off we go..

Would be strangely reminiscent of some of those Aug 1968 rail tours.

Something else, this firefighters strike is (in the opinion of an old union man) futile. They can go on forever having 4 hours here and 4 hours there, they will achieve absolutely nothing except cause misery an disappointment. They won't get anything with random 4 hours or whatever.

The only thing they are doing is further alienating the general public, and certain sections even more.

The strikes in the summer were 4 hour ones, but this time it is 4 days, according to the BBC report.

Fire service strike for 4 days just prior to bonfire night (and on a weekend so there will be a considerable number of fires, fireworks displays etc)..
not only great timing by the FBU, but shadows pointless when it comes to banning the operation of a steam locomotive with it's fire in a highly enclosed/regulated space.

I hope nothing serious happens during this time.

What you say is true but in that case why is it only steam hauled trains and not everything that has been stopped?

You can't stop the country, a few steam charters are easy pickings. I don't like it any less than the next man but there is nothing that can be changed. A lot of people will be losing a lot of money......again, and there's not a damn thing we can do about it.

Agreed, time for it to close I think, if and when the next attemp to run comes round we can start again.
