Not seen a thread for this year’s Waverley tours so apologies if I’ve missed it.

With good weather forecast, top lights fully open, a Jubilee to roar and cinders aplenty - should be a good day. I would be grateful if anyone travelling can record, then post a time for the climb from Ormside to the Aisgill summit sign. I am keeping a record of all posted times for the year. [Pleases see post #63 on the "WCRC Scarborough Spa/Dalesman/Spirit of the Lakes/normal tours 2022" thread for full details.]

Thanks in anticipation and enjoy. Remember, "Oswald needs YOUR time!"

I've seen a report on Freight Locate that Leander has failed at Carlisle. Indeed there appears to be a light loco path from Carnforth to Carlisle which hasn't set off as yet...

Anyone able to shed any light?

Can’t give an answer myself, but it’s been mentioned over on Railcam that 47804 is to pilot Leander from Carlisle to Hellifield tonight where the 2x 37’s will then take over for the remainder of the run to York.

Leander has now left Carlisle behind a diesel, and is now only 14 down at Settle Junction.

Don’t know much about the mechanics of steam locomotives but Leander does sound a bit odd in this video.

Sounds like an internal steam leak so the comment by @RalphW may well be on the mark.

Leander being taken from Hellifield to Carnforth via Blackburn? More gauging issues?
It's spot on the mark as the info came from those on the train who know.

Looking absolutely immaculate on a very warm sunny day, Jubilee class No. 45690 'Leander' hauls the first 'Waverley of the season works passed Quarry Farm/Lunds Paddock with I believe Chris Beet driving, Mick Kelly Inspector and Martyn
    Soames firing

    Waverley 2 NP 45690.jpg

Having waited five hours for the return this is not what I was expecting and the less said the better, whether the toot from the diesel was to wind me up I will never know!! Hope Leander's misfortune is quickly fettled
