This web cam site is very useful, http://www.ingleboroughwebcam.co.uk/ the conditions at present are ideal for video, no wind and cold....
But I'm not sure about this.. http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/today.asp?zipcode=West+Yorkshire

That forecast in the second link isn't looking good, I intended to go to Scotsmans bridge just through the service road from Tebay services. If it's not too bad on the M6 it may still be worth parking at the services and walking over to the west side of the line. I was also going to catch them between Bolton and Chorley but due to the times if it is overcast there will not be much light available.

I think it will be a case of checking on the traffic reports on Wednesday morning.

The main roads are clear but the smaller ones are still icey but passable. I went upto Docker today and got there easily. To tempt you all, this was Docker today with the southbound China Clay http://philmetcalfe.fotopic.net/p62689875.html
All we need is the sun for Wednesday.

Hopefully they won't be too bad now, I'm hoping to get up Shap Wells but something tells me I may be in for a quite a walk :| Followed by a trip to Birkett Common and will most likely leave the car again on the main road and walk miles :p

    Hi Mark
It didnt look as if the small lanes had been gritted at all. I think it will be careful driving if you are heading off the main roads.

A pic from Greenholme today. The road at Greenholme was reasonably clear of snow, better than the lanes around Docker. I did meet somebody who said the lane down to Scout Green off the B6261 looked icey, i didnt have time to check this though.
A pic of a FLHH 66 in the dull heading past Greenholme http://philmetcalfe.fotopic.net/p62698878.html Hope this helps Chaps for tomorrow.

Heavy snow now forecast for Northwest England, severe weather warnings issued. Let's hope it doesn't get too intense/disruptive.

On the local BBC forecast tonight it was saying that the snow wont reach Shap or even further north than Preston. We will see.
