6233 was/is scheduled to do the first 3. Nothing has been heard to change that.

Thanks. I managed to look through my Steam Railway Magazine collection and find the mileage on one of Mike Notleys old timings from Carnforth to Carlisle.

Hopefully the change of plan at Watford is not going to last long.

I'm glad that I'm not on the WCME from Watford this week. You have to get a train 45 minutes earlier at 0640 from Watford that whisks you up there to hang around for 40 minutes until the WCME arrives. Driving to MK is probably the best bet if you can't get to Euston.

According to one of the regulars Les Ross is unlikely to haul any of the WCME's

Well at least the Class 47s seems to be proving that they can keep to the path so that might actually be a gain for WCR if they can use their own motive power.

Not too good at keeping to the timings today. http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U50592/2015/02/07/advanced

Reported to be looking good and going well through Oxenholme..

Trains out of London this morning were delayed a little due to the Police attending an assault at Watford. I was on the 7:03 to New Street which was about 20 mins down at Rugby. Mind you the WCME caught us just north of Watford on the FL although we quickly pulled ahead.

37, I was told, not 39, helped by 71 at Tebay and the fact that this time the brakes were off! But definitely a better running time compared with last week by about 7 min.

Either way it was a good climb by any measure, with an early arrival at Citadel, tho not quite enough time for an extra pint at lloyds !

Yes a wonderful effortless performance from the Duchess. 39.5 Grayrigg, 71 Tebay. 37.1 over Shap in the fog and snow. Overall 69/51 which is fast. Thanks to David Blair and Nigel Barber on the footplate. 47.237 and 746 did very well after being 15 late at Rugby. Got to Carnforth right time after some very fast running

Well worth the early start and long drive to MK

Not, Ralph if you wanted a storming run up to Appleby that we had last week. Today looks to have been more pedestrian. Just think of Shap last week as a load of 14/15 that it probably was in equivalent terms given the brakes and it wasn't at all bad. Either that or play all the videos a tad faster!

RTT suggests it was all a bit of a plod over the S&C compared with last week. The videos won't lie!
