Thank you all very much for your kind comments, which are greatly appreciated - I'm pleased that the videos have provided enjoyment to others. It was worth standing up all day and like many enthusiasts, I struggle to sit down for more than 2 minutes anyway - dog out of the car window syndrome ;)

I wish Ralph! A certain Mr. Knopfler is responsible for the music ('Irish Boy' from the Cal soundtrack). YouTube now allows third party content to be added (depending on the record label). Once uploaded, the audio is scanned to identify any such material, and if anything is identified, it is flagged to the uploader. You can acknowledge the claim, with most music publishers allowing you to retain the music within the upload, but with adverts mandatorily added to the video (from which they get any revenue - probably about 2p on a 'specialist' video like this).

I asked since you have previously written and played but in this case I thought I had heard it before, so that explains where.

I see on UK Steam there's a Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express on April 4 but no mention of it on the Railway Touring Company's website. Does anyone know if it's definitely running or got tickets for that date?

I'd be inclined to believe the company that's running it - i.e. the RTC. They have another trip on 4/4.

Steam Railway issue 436 2/1 - 29/1 on the reader offer 4 trips for price of 3 do not list a trip on this date just 31/1, 7/2, 14/2, 28/2 , 21/3, 28/3 and 11/4 as the RTC website.

Edit : - Engineering works between Euston and Watford junction, and Crewe and Warrington Bank Quay on 4/4 according to National Rail Enquires.

Just seen a message for another forum that this Saturdays train is to be Class 68 hauled on the diesel part of the route, anyone in the know able to confirm?

Can't be Les Ross as the loco is OOU awaiting new wheel sets with a reported return to traffic date of April; on other forums the suggestion is DRS Class 68 (with DRS drivers) northbound and a pair of WCRC Class 47s southbound.

For all those who slag off RTC/WCRC at every opportunity, appreciate this, West Coast must have some sort of problem with either motive power of crew for this weekends WCME, but instead of just saying OK we can't do it so postpone or cancel, they go to DRS to help them out, even though it's only for a one way.

Agreed. It's quite an unusual, and potentially costly, move for WCRC, so well done to them.

Whilst not conversant with the logic it may be that (due possibly to the Harbury landslip) DRS needs to get a 68 to Carlisle and WCRC needs to get some 47s down to Southall so rather than light engine Wembley - Carlisle and light engine Carnforth - Southall moves the window of opportunity provides an answer that suits both parties. Despite suggestions on some websites the Operating Companies usually co-operate where they can.
