So dare one ask, what happened to the eagerly anticipated double heading?

Was thinking of trying to get on one of the later WCMEs - but not worth the considerable effort and expense, if the outcome might be being shoved ...

Peter, 5690 failed its FTR exam at Carnforth.

Confusingly there are two similar threads running. The other one is specific to the 24th January train.

Today's one would of only been shoved because it was a load of 12 with a Black Five, so would need some assistance. It 46233 being on the train with 12/13, no problem considering it's tractive effort. I'm on the 7th February WCME with the Duchess.

Very much so, I hope members will use this thread for all future postings related to the WCME, even those concerned with a specific date to avoid the same kind of duplication, :)

I agree. If this thread can now be used for the WCME series of charters then it will keep all the great videos that are posted in one place and allow comparisons across the trips to be made as appropriate. And to that end, I am looking forward to an unhindered Duchess (FTR exam permitting!) taking on Shap and Ais Gill next weekend.

Tempted to book for next Sat but does anyone have any clues on the health or otherwise of 46233? Or might we again have a substitute?

    Many thanks.
