    Evenin' all !

Some lovely stuff in this thread chaps, great work all !
A sad day indeed, can't believe its all over for the loop.
Having a brew with my Dad the other day, he told me about how him and my mum used to wander down to the pecotes and Bullcote lane and watch an seemingly endless procession of dubdees and black8's pass by and how the fire box glow lit up the sky. Thankfully, despite being a little bit late 45231 did not disappoint, there wasn't a dry eye !
This isn't the best of shots, first sequence at Greenfield's been seen before, but i'd been in Kendal at a wedding an hour before ! Part 2, the light really had gone, but the fireworks were spectacular !

Must say what a great tour it was. Having to restart from signals halfway up Miles Platting... Quite epic.

Well done to Spitfire and West Coast. Lets hope that Spitfire run a few more Steam tours, to go with the splendid range of diesel and electric tours already on offer.

I love that night sequence Matt, with the plaintive (asthmatic!) Stanier whistle and the light flashes very emotive, I was nearly moved to tears.

Great stuff, thanks for sharing. :smt023

Can members please keep on topic rather than throwing personal insults around please?

    Thanks, Neil.

BTW, Thanks to everyone who has posted up photos, vids and their experiences (and memories!) of the day, some cracking stuff there.

    The camera that I used was my Canon EOS 5D Mk2 with a Canon 24-70mm L f2.8.
I'm glad you liked the photo, although it is one of my worst. The light was such that I had no option than to go for the ultra-high ISO. The noise on the photo is shocking and for that reason I doubt if HR would publish it, even though it may be unique.
I only posted the shot so that people could see at least something. I much prefer my other pictures taken that day of the train on the Cotton Mill circuit.

    A couple more:

I suppose I may ask HR if they are interested in the photo, just in case.

I'm sure every photographic contributor here does his/her best and I still like to see all of them.

If you like my shots, feel free to peruse my fotopic site: http://graham-williams.fotopic.net/

On the subject of HR, my work does appear in there from time to time.
    Some examples:

I didn't stay around for the Class 37, I needed to get home by 7:30pm.
