    25/67 .Must be a typo with the date .Both loco's have BR numbers .60508 has British Railways on the tender. So probably early BR days. Kings Cross shed remines me ,the eastern region only gave permits for 12 or more persons ,and at KX there was the dreaded MAN ON THE GATE .So difficult to bunk .But he went home about 8pm,so I used to visit after then ,mostly in darkness ,instead of waiting at St Pancras for my train home. The diesel shunters (they had a few 03s or similar)were kept in a new small shed in complete darkness. .A torch was needed to see the numbers. Wow ,happy times.

    There was no passenger service between Peterboro' East and north in the1950/60s or vv. Trains from the East Midlands to Peterboro' via Wansford terminated at East .(apart from one daily Birmingham to Yarmouth train and return ) A reversal would be required to to access the conection to Peterboro' North. The junction was near to NVR Peterborough' station. It was about a 15/20min walk between the two .I done it times.

    The London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) Peppercorn Class A2 is a class of steam locomotive designed for express passenger work by Arthur Peppercorn, the chief designer of the LNER after Edward Thompson. All of the first 15 built were constructed under British Railways after nationalisation in 1948 apart from 60525 which was built in 1947.
