Disappointing news, and fingers crossed you are able to find an alternative location.

Intriguing that you need room for seven vehicles though? Are there others in the plan apart from the two dining saloons?

 

A seven vehicle undercover facility with services and good access for free or peppercorn rent?? I think you win the Nat Pres 2023 award for optimism with that one!

Yes, other vehicles are in the pipeline, but I won't say what until we know for sure that we have them.

I could probably have worded it better, but if you don't ask, you don't get.

Plus, I'd rather be up front from the start rather than just say we need xyz and then find things hit snags!

 

I sort of half sympathise with your ambition, but I do feel it is rather misplaced! It would be a big ask of a group to work on more than two coaches at a time so what you really need is workshop space for two and secure storage for the other five - that might be more achievable. Open storage where you would be allowed to erect a polytunnel or other form of temporary shed to protect them would be rather better than your potential collection have probably been accustomed to till now!

 

The Titanic boat's deterioration on the sea bed was on the TV news today.

From the webpage no update on the carriages.
Would it be worth an update and publicity to get more funds for a suitable warehouse/ workshop for the at least the 2 carriages to prevent any open air deterioration, perhaps even fundraising in America?.

You will forgive us if things seem rather quiet on the website and social media, that is because currently there isn't a lot to report, but that doesn't mean we've been sat on our hands - far from it, we've been busy in the background laying the foundations for when we are able to move the carriages, plus we are currently in negociations to that end.

I'm sure you'll appreciate, that at this time I can say no more on the subject.

 

Whilst things seem to be quiet, we haven't been, but obviously at the moment I cannot comment on any ongoing negotiations.

Instead, we've had to be patient whilst changes to our constitution have been approved by the charities commision to accept members, and to that end, I'm pleased to announce that this weekend we launched our membership both online and at the Slough Model Railway exhibition, it would seem that people have been wanting to join us, as memberships are proving popular.

So, if you believe in what we are trying to achieve, and want to help us in a small way financially as all pennies we recieve from memebership will go towards getting the vehicles moved and restored to their former glory.

News on the Facebook site shows a five year sponsorship deal has been agreed with White Star memories Ltd. Looks like an initial cheque for £25k has been handed over.

Also states plans for the coaches to be moved to Hampshire in the spring.

Just to clarify......

We HOPE to move the carriages soon, I did say up thread that things will take time, and that is proving to be the case, so as and when things are signed and sealed, we will announce when and where the carriages will be moving to.

Sorry I can't be more forthcoming, but we are where we are.
