To copyright photographs on the internet or not

    I must say that last year Paul had a go at me for a watermark on my shots and with hindsight he was right.I looked at shots as a neutral and my eyes were drawn to the said watermark
    It was different to Stuarts by the way

    I think I've "had a go" at a few folk over the years about them. While I completely understand peoples desire to protect their images, I just find large prominent watermarks to be a step too far when it comes to enjoying the images, which is surely the point of putting them online on a public forum? I'm sure everyone has their own view as to when they become obtrusive. I would, therefore, ask people to think about why they put the watermark there. Is it worth reducing the enjoyment and appearance of your images for the majority just to put off a few scroats who likely won't do much with them anyway? After all, the likes of Colin Prior, Joe Cornish, Charlie Waite, even the great Ansel Adams seem to manage without them on their online images.
