I would have thought that the West Coast crews would have wanted to put on a show with the departure of the Weymouth Seaside Express from Bristol. With a diesel at the rear pushing the train out of the station the passengers awaiting the Torbay Express must have thought how lucky they were not to be travelling to the south coast. <BJ>

My footage of Tornado's last Torbay Express run of 2015. My shots are at Grants Mill Crossing at Nailsea, Teignmouth, Langstone Rock and Westward Rhyne Crossing at Yatton.

Here’s my video of the run on the 2nd August 2015. Just one clip, taken at Tiverton Parkway on the return.

Bookings must be good for the Torbay Express at present. Another 12 coach train at the weekend.

A second week where passengers felt fortunate that they opted for Kingswear rather than elsewhere. ;) <BJ>

Anyone got any timings or speeds from last Sunday for Whiteball, Kingskerswell and Churston both ways? First dry day for 60163.

70000 has been lit up outside Barton Hill. ECS from Crewe should arrive within the hour too.

Thats good news. I thought the ECS sat in the centre road of Temple Meads all week. Has that changed?

The stock has been used on other charters this year rather than staying at Bristol for the season.

  14. Will be out for the Brit on Sunday. I'm hoping that all will be well after standing on Dainton for the best part of 3/4 hour last week.

Very, very heavy bursts of rain in Bristol this morning.

Britannia was going like a bat out of hell this morning at Long Ashton on the outskirts of Bristol.
Today is the final Torbay Express of the season to run via Long Ashton and Weston-Super-Mare.

Load 11 today. Not a diesel in sight. :)

Not exactly the best weather for viewing the train from the lineside or for the punters travelling to the coast.
But rain, sleet or snow .....it was well worth the effort of going out to see it. <BJ>

It looked as if was a pretty gloomy day at Teignmouth today but at least there wasn't a helicopter to spoil your filming. :)

News from Icons of Steam. <BJ>

''Unfortunately we have had to postpone the aerial filming of Britannia on this weekends Torbay Express service from Bristol to Paignton and Kingswear. The weather forecast is predicting poor weather with rain and overcast skies that would not yield the top notch film we want to get of Britannia speeding along the English Riviera.

While we’re sad to have had to take this decision we’re already making plans to undertake the filming on another occasion. We’ll bring you more news of this very soon…

In the mean time we’re still very excited to see Britannia back in action on the Torbay Express this weekend, we hope you all have a great day, whether you’re a passenger or just come out to see us, regardless of the weather!''

Be interested to hear what happened in the general area of Weston. From broadly on time to 18 late.

Nice footage but you were clearly in the wrong place.

Getting 4 sequences along there indicates to me you should have been at Beijing taking on Usain Bolt! :)
