A lot more rain fell in the Bristol and Bath areas than forecast. The grass is actually a shade of green once again.
Come on Network Rail, let the Torbay Express season return to normal service. :) <BJ>

Could we see clanline on the 2nd September Torbay express.

With Braunton on the royal duchy on the same day that would see the fantastic sight of two Bulleid locos going thru Exeter, possibly passing each other.

Not booked for it so sorry, it won't happen. The loco also has Belmond Pullman duties a few days later.

Also, with 34046 (34052) not on WCR books anymore I reckon no bullieds will be in the south west that day (on the mainline at least)

    Says who?

You reckon wrong - 'Braunton' has been booked on two 'Duchys', since RTC first proposed them.

Whilst we can take James as gospel, RTC advertising something often bears little resemblance to the outcome plus the circumstantial evidence of no LSL loco operated by WC in 2018 can easily see how that speculation arose.

Almost a shame. Was rather hoping it would be a Black 5 from Bristol. Hope LSL don't insist on a Totnes Water Stop on the return.

It's steam on the main line without a diesel attached. Let's just be grateful for that. <BJ>

Totnes is a great place to stop I think. Road and rail over bridges, lots of open space and parking adjacent to the station and a decent little cafeteria in the former signal box. With the four tracks there is other traffic which might well pass through as well.

Just ruins Dainton eastbound if a water stop is made. Going rather off thread. I've put the links to the timings on the Duchy Thread.

Clan Line passed Keynsham this morning at 08:20, 12 mins late due to over running engineering work. Thanks to the crew for the long blast of the whistle as she sped through the station. The many admiring fans really appreciated that and the fact that there was no diesel in the consist.

It was good to see the immaculate condition of Clan Line today against the condition of A4 'Union of South Africa' yesterday in filthy late BR condition. Both have a character of their own and I appreciate seeing both. <BJ>
