Who are these unseen people who 'want steam off the main line?' Is that a fact - or just another Nat Pres myth?

To return to the Border Raider and the earlier point about how Northern Rail would have reacted to their stopper being held so that Tornado could depart first....
Isn't the point here more to do with balancing the needs of hundreds of people who had a long journey home ahead of them against rather less! people who might be held up on the stopper. Yes, I know the argument will go along the lines of possible missed connections for those on the stopper but as it turned out what about the many missed connections of the many on the charter train?

Who pays for the taxi across London to get the only train towards Soton and the early morning car journey home from the nearest station (30 miles away). And that was just my journey.

I just don't believe that NR places equal importance on charter trains as other services when they should. Are we not the same people who also use the other services. And now with increasing members of the general public travelling rather than possibly more tolerant enthusiasts, is not NR storing up a problem for itself down the line..end of rant!
