I was going to post the same thing. I didn't see the commuter train as I had to go to school at the time (should have taken a sick day!) but my Dad went out to see it.
The guys from PSOV also captured it on video:

Plus there was also an M7 shunting the stock at Waterloo afterwards!*

I have looked up details for the 35028 run and found that she hauled a commuter train early in the morning (6.50?) to Waterloo which was also advertised to the public.
She later returned from Waterloo to Salisbury with a private charity charter for children. After this charter had returned to Woking in the evening she then hauled a trip from Woking to Clapham Junction (info taken from Six Bells Jct website).
Another website also states that she hauled a commuter train (19.09) back from Waterloo to Woking. This all took place on Friday 24th March 1995.
*The M7 was involved with shunting after another railtour on a different day, 26th March 1995.

Great coverage of Tornado today on the news. Another historic day for the Steam Preservation movement and the folks at the A1 Steam trust.

Lovely picture, shame about the tasteless headboards but we have to live with these things.

Agreed. At least they made the effort and shared the results.

Spam basically said what I was going to, For one example I think Sheps shots are great and a phrase involving rock shaped projectiles being launched at a building made of windows comes to mind.

£3.25 Skipton to Settle return........ Bought at 17.00. No probs
Lots of room and a good run! £4.90 for my wife- a romantic Valentine treat!!!

This morning was excellent - with a reservation.wonderful weather but also v v friendly Northern staff and local volunteers.

Sorry if this post bears little resemblance to the dark forebodings of elderly people unable to get to Appleby(!!!!)

Well done to Northern......the S C was in a dire space with passenger loadings truly awful.
This publicity should put it back in the public mind- reminding coach operators that they can book groups fromApril.
There are other associated events.....tomorrow will be out to Appleby and then Appleby Castle which is open for the 3 Tornado days!

If you haven't got a reservation then try the evening trip. Very atmospheric, dirt cheap and at least 150 spare seats!!!!

My effort from Blea Moor. Seems to work best in black and white.

I wonder if the Mail muppet was wound up by a railway person and swallowed it. In the days when there were sub-editors who knew how things worked this wouldn't have happened.

    That's open to debate.
So somebody who couldn't be arsed to turn out has the brass neck to criticise those who did give it a try.

In a world of your own I reckon Henry. Telling people there images are crap is no way to encourage them. They tried where you didn't.
