Just to clarify when Tornado is operating.

Keep an eye on www.a1steam.com. This should be up-to-date with the operating days.

Tornado is operating today (Mon 25th) and tomorrow on mileage accumulaton as a part of the test programme. There are static tests on Wednesday before a maintenance period.

Tornado will then be on test again on 10th Sept.

Tornado was in light steam for the GCR's Thomas weekend and had a face put on the front. Is it being repainted at Loughborough,Darlington or York? It has apparently clocked up 150 miles on the GCR.

Great to hear about Tornado's first public train on the 22nd september but has anyone told the Great Central as their timetable on the net http://www.gcrailway.co.uk/timetables.aspx shows only midweek trains that week?

Just found this video recently posted on YouTube of Tornado on test this week.....

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OutpcHQwm6I

Tornado + 11 coached + oil can on the back - looks to be going well.

Presumably the Class 45 was to pull it back from Leicester, as with that load it was too long to run-round,

I see the Beano's in on the act and the 22nd will be a "readers day."

My favourite quote from the show was the claim there were only 2 steam locos in 1825. Good publicity for both Tornado and NYMR.
