Tracks to the Trenches was a superb event and congratulations are appropriate to all those involved in making it happen.
I agree that it was a bonus having this event on the same weekend as Statfold, so I was able to do Statfold on Saturday and Apedale on Sunday. Quite an amazing narrow gauge weekend!
Could it be even better for a repeat in 2018 (or sooner)? A second or third Baldwin 4-6-0T would be great, plus the (very original) Froissy Alco and some of the Tacot Des Lacs locos such as Felin Hen and a Baldwin petrol and Dick Kerr PE would provide the ultimate WW1 NG show! The attached link gives an idea of the kit at Tacot:http://tacotdeslacs.free.fr/collection.html
It would be expensive to bring so much over from France but worth it if sufficient sponsorship could be arranged.

    Thanks Rusty

My comment re opening hours was related to the M6 - I would have come on Friday but a noon opening time would have meant me getting back on to the M6 South at about 4 - and then getting totally stuck. If you had opened at 1030 that day like Saturday and Sunday that would have worked well for me and others who live south of Birmingham.
