Just just hope our fantastic government have not been given the responsibility for dealing with the paperwork.

Great to see them home where they belong. Seems from everything I've heard and seen in photos that Dominion isn't in the rudest of health.

Dominion is actually in better nick than Dwight. A bit of oil on the paintwork and she'd look like she'd just come off a train in the mid 1960s. The bent fairing on the front is but a bit of tinwork and Dwight has had a similar ding.

I love all steam and my defence of Mr. Bulleid's fine Pacifics will not have gone unnoticed on here. :) My first clear memory of steam however was a trip out of Kings Cross behind 60014 and I was enamoured totally by the A4s from that moment onwards.

Is it wise to leave them on the dock at Liverpool overnight ?, there will be 3 Vauxhall Nova's sporting 6'8 driving wheels by morning.

Any idea Anthony how long both cosmetic restorations will take and how 60008 will be transported to York.

Any idea how long they'll be on display at Shildon before the cosmetic overhauls start?

I just hope that they don't stay on Peel's property for too long. They don't have a good track record with historic items on their property, having a tendency to scrap things.

Talking of paperwork, if you put two A4s side by side, you get an A3 with a crack down the middle. Oh no, the NRM has already got one of those.

With all this metalwork and painting to sort out, I hope the NRM hasn't Bittern off more than it can chew.

HR suggests both are going to Shildon for display . No.9 is at York . I'm hoping the 8,9,10 line up can still be done . I've popped Anthony a note to confirm the plans so we can share with Nat Pres

Doesn't sound like too much of a Mallardy then; I would be more worried about Seagull droppings if it stays at the coast too long. Perhaps like King Arthur it needs a little of Merlin's magic for protection.

My understanding from NRM Press Office is that the pair will be on display at Shildon until the end of the month. I also understand from other sources that the cancellation of the Vintage Rally was due to the need for road access and off-loading but since times of arrival couldn't be confirmed sufficiently in advance it was reluctantly decided to cancel rather than have a clash of events.
