Disappointed to lose Poole, but top marks to VT on the PR front, have put many others to shame with the standard of statements during this period, Just a shame I'm unlikely to get much steam mainline mileage this year (likely to be 0 till September now), work commitments bugger any idea of a ride on the Shakespeare this year.

5043 is due out for a trial run, but it is not for passengers. Sorry.

Shame about the Poole trip but understandable considering the circumstances. It's a shame us Southerners wont get to see 5043 especially as VT don't normally come down to the south coast, I was even thinking of taking my 19 month old son out to see it too and I'm sure his Grandad and Great Grandad may have come along as well but still, more importantly VT are back up and running which is the main thing!

Is there any indications of when 6023 shall be tested by the way while we are on the subject of test runs?

The Vintage Trains thread isn't really the place to ask. I don't think they're involved. There's a 6023 thread in the Steam Traction area, with links to the 6023 pages of the Didcot website.

Standard practice is tender first to Stratford, and a path tender first through Dorridge at 45MPH would be hard to come by.

There is talk elsewhere showing concern about Saturday's Seaside Flyer trip. People haven't got their tickets & when they ring VT they cannot get a conclusive answer. Seems to be in the air with people wondering whether it's running or not.
