It's going to be 5043 Earl of mount Edgcumbe as well Nathan by the look of it so it's the 1st time I will have had the Earl of mount Edgcumbe in the north as well I've only been on it before to Lincoln last October 12 2024 I think the last time 5043 came to York was before its last overhaul.

Does anybody know what traction will be on the trip to Scarborough tomorrow, given the weather?

    Very chaotic these days.
Round my way we've just had a hosepipe ban, and now there's a yellow warning for flooding.

You can certainly still make a telephone booking. I always have and the folk in the office are always friendly and happy to process booking.

Doesn't make sense. If the diesel is on the front from Brum turning it on the Greenford Triangle will surely have Clun leading into Paddington!! Will have to check with the office again as when I booked last Friday, the 11th, I had a long chat with Alex who said the train was to have Clun on the front all day, going south via Oxford taking water in Hinksey Loop, then Didcot East curve onto the GWML. The diesel will lead from the triangle into Pad. When I booked the train was going up Filton, through Parkway, bypassing Gloucester and running via Cheltenham Spa on the return.
